Description

Experience the deliciousness of Dumpling Tacos, featuring a savory filling of ground pork, fresh herbs, and spices, all wrapped in soft tortilla shells. This recipe is perfect for a quick dinner or a fun family meal, bringing comfort and flavor to your table effortlessly.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground pork or ground chicken
  • 3 green onions, chopped (use the whites and the green)
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • bunch fresh cilantro, chopped (more for topping)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch fresh ginger, minced
  • 2 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 10-12 street taco size flour tortillas
  • matchstick carrots
  • cucumber, diced
  • salted peanuts, chopped
  • fresh cilantro
  • ponzu or soy sauce for dipping (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, ginger, garlic, red pepper flakes, brown sugar, soy sauce, green onions, and chopped cilantro. Mix well and set aside.
  2. Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Scoop about 1/4 cup of the pork mixture and place it in the center of a flour tortilla. Cook 2-3 tacos at a time, pork side down, pressing them down with a spatula for 30-60 seconds.
  3. Allow the tacos to cook for 3 minutes, then gently flip them. Cover with a lid and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to steam the tortillas until soft.
  4. Continue to cook in batches, placing the finished dumplings on a baking sheet. Add toppings and serve warm for dipping in soy or ponzu sauce.

Notes

Feel free to replace ground pork with ground chicken for a lighter option.
For added freshness, include other toppings such as avocados or radishes.
These tacos are best served immediately after cooking for the best texture.
