Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound pizza dough
- ½ cup barbecue sauce, divided
- 1 cup shredded cooked chicken or pork
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
- 4 ounces shredded cheddar cheese (~1 cup)
- 4 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese (~1 cup)
- minced cilantro, optional
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425℉ (215℃) and lightly grease a 12-inch pizza pan.
- Stretch and flatten the pizza dough on the greased pan using floured hands.
- In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken or pork with 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce and garlic powder, coating the meat well.
- Spread a thin layer of BBQ sauce over the dough, leaving a bit of a border for the crust.
- Add the seasoned meat and sliced onion on top, followed by the cheeses.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown. Let it cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing.
- Optionally, sprinkle with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the chicken with pork for a different flavor.
Using store-bought pizza dough saves time, but homemade dough adds a personal touch.
For added heat, consider adding jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
