Description
This No Knead Bread stands out with its delightful flavor and easy preparation. Just mix flour, yeast, and water for a rustic, homemade loaf that’s perfect for any meal.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups all purpose flour
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast (instant or rapid rise yeast also works)
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 cups warm water (just above room temperature)
- more flour for shaping the loaf
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add flour and then yeast to one side and salt to the other.
- Stir the yeast into the flour first, then mix the salt to prevent it from directly touching the yeast.
- Pour warm water into the mixture and stir with a wooden spoon until all flour is combined. The dough will be rough and sticky, which is normal.
- Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rise in a warm place for about 1.5 hours or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F and place the Dutch oven with the lid inside to heat up.
- On a floured surface, gather the dough with floured hands and shape it into a circular loaf on parchment paper.
- Sprinkle flour over the loaf and loosely cover it with a kitchen towel. Let it rise for about 30 minutes.
- Transfer the dough into the preheated Dutch oven using the parchment paper and cover with the lid. Bake for 30 minutes without opening the lid.
- Remove the lid and bake for an additional 10 minutes, then cool on a wire rack.
Notes
Ensure water is warm to activate the yeast properly.
The dough will be sticky—it’s a no-knead recipe, so don’t worry about the texture.
Let the bread cool completely before slicing to achieve the best texture.
