Description

This Juiciest Chicken Burger combines ground chicken with Mediterranean spices and a hint of Greek yogurt for a flavor-packed meal. Perfect for a quick dinner or healthy lunch, these burgers are both delicious and easy to prepare. Enjoy them on a bun or lettuce wrap for a lower-carb option!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup dried bread crumbs (you can use gf bread crumbs)
  • 1 tablespoon greek yogurt
  • 1 small yellow onion, grated
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon urfa biber (or red pepper flakes)
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 4 burger buns (or lettuce wraps for low carb/gluten free option)
  • Garlic Aioli
  • romaine lettuce
  • 1 large tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, 1/4 cup bread crumbs, Greek yogurt, grated onion, Italian seasoning, and Urfa Biber. Add about 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix until well combined.
  2. Place the remaining 1/4 cup of bread crumbs on a plate. Divide the chicken mixture into 4 portions and roll each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a 3/4-inch thick patty, coating it with the bread crumbs.
  3. Brush a large cast iron skillet with 2 teaspoons of olive oil over medium heat. Once shimmering, add the patties without touching them. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 3 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
  4. To assemble, spread garlic aioli on the buns, then layer on the chicken patties, followed by lettuce, tomato, and onion. Serve immediately.

Notes

Make sure to handle the chicken gently when shaping the patties to keep them tender.
You can substitute urfa biber with any favorite red pepper for a different spice level.
Serving with lettuce wraps is a great low-carb alternative.
