Ingredients

  • 1 cup onion, minced
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 16 ounces frozen green peas
  • 1-2 cups water


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced onions, seasoning them with salt and pepper.
  3. Sauté the onions for a few minutes, stirring often, until they soften without browning.
  4. Incorporate the frozen green peas into the pan and sauté for a couple of minutes, stirring frequently.
  5. Pour in enough water to just cover the peas and bring it to a boil. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium.
  6. Let it simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the water has mostly evaporated and the peas are tender. Adjust seasoning if needed. Serve immediately.

Fresh peas can be used instead of frozen for an even fresher taste.
