Ingredients
Scale
- 15.25 ounce devils food cake mix or dark chocolate fudge cake mix
- 3.9 ounce instant chocolate pudding
- 1 cup sour cream or plain greek yogurt
- 1-2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk
- ½ cup avocado oil or other vegetable oil
- 1 ½ cups chocolate chips
- 8 oz cream cheese
- ½ cup butter
- ⅔ cup light brown sugar
- 1-2 teaspoons vanilla
- pinch of salt
- 3 cups powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350° F for light pans or 325° F for dark pans. Grease and flour your bundt pan thoroughly using either release spray or butter and cocoa powder.
- In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine all ingredients except chocolate chips. Mix on low until combined, then increase to medium and blend for 2-3 minutes, scraping the sides as needed. Stir in chocolate chips by hand afterward.
- Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan, smoothing the top evenly. Tap the pan on the counter to eliminate air bubbles.
- Bake for 40-55 minutes, checking with a cake tester. It should come out mostly clean; if it feels gooey, test again in another spot. The cake is done when it bounces back slightly when touched and is firm around the edges.
Notes
Make sure ingredients like eggs and sour cream are at room temperature for better mixing.
This cake can be enjoyed plain or topped with a chocolate glaze.
Storing leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature keeps the cake moist.
