Description

These Chicken Lettuce Wraps offer irresistible flavor with a healthy blend of ground chicken, veggies, and a tangy sauce. Ideal for a quick dinner or a guilt-free snack, this recipe brings joy to your table with simple prep and fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 4 ounces mushrooms chopped
  • 1/2 cup matchstick carrots
  • 1/2 cup water chestnuts chopped
  • 2 teaspoons fresh ginger grated
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 green onions thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground chicken and cook while crumbling it for 2-3 minutes, but do not fully cook the chicken.
  2. In the same skillet, add chopped mushrooms, water chestnuts, matchstick carrots, grated ginger, and minced garlic. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and veggies are tender-crisp.
  3. In a small bowl, mix hoisin sauce, soy sauce, chili garlic sauce, and sesame oil to prepare the sauce. Stir well to combine.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and vegetables in the skillet. Stir and cook over medium heat for 1-2 minutes until the sauce is well incorporated.
  5. Spoon the chicken and vegetable mixture into lettuce cups. Garnish with sliced green onions and toasted sesame seeds, and drizzle with additional sauce if desired.

Notes

For added crunch, consider using sliced bell peppers or cucumbers in the filling.
You can adjust the spiciness by modifying the amount of chili garlic sauce according to your taste.
These wraps are best served fresh but can be refrigerated for a day.
